Somewhere along the way fried chicken hasn’t been too appetizing for me. I just hate how greasy it is, and it makes me nauseous seeing all the oil that comes out a piece of chicken when you bite into it (yuck). So the first time I heard about KFC’s newest chicken sandwich the Double Down, I wasn’t too excited. Over time however, a small little voice deep down (stomach) started telling me that I must try it. Eventually this little voice grew into a loud yell, and I just couldn’t resist it anymore and so I went out to buy me a Double Down combo. I didn’t know what to expect, but hoped that this sandwich would live up to all the hype I had heard about. The combo cost me $6.99 plus tax, and is only sold in the US for now. According to KFC this sandwich features: “two thick and juicy boneless white meat chicken filets, two pieces of bacon, two melted slices of Monterey Jack and pepper jack cheese and Colonel's Sauce.” At 540 calories, can you say a heart attack never sounded so tasty? My first impression after eating it was how delicious it really is, and since the chicken is pure white meat it’s not greasy at all (or at least compared to what I’m used to). The chicken combined with all the cheese, bacon and sauce really made me love this sandwich. Though the combo is a little expensive I would say that as far as taste factors is concerned, it’s totally worth every penny and has guaranteed many return visits to KFC from me in the future. Finger lickin’ good!
